Overview
In response to the emerging pandemic situation in Wuhan, the Chinese government launched a project to rapidly construct 2 emergency response hospitals in Wuhan, named “Huoshenshan Hospital” or “Fire God Hospital” in English. The facility was an emergency specialty field hospital, built between 23 January and 2 February 2020 to provide isolation and treatment services for COVID-19 patients.
Our Solution
HUBER & RANNER responded quickly to a request from the government to supply air handling units to the emergency hospital construction, re-purposing units already in production for another project to make them suitable for the Wuhan hospital requirements. The units featured full heating and cooling capability, as well as special exhaust air units comprising 3-stage filtration and high temperature heat-processing (heating the air to over 56 degrees Celsius) to effectively kill all virus particles prior to air discharge.
In total over 80 units were supplied to emergency COVID-19 hospitals.
